VFC 2020-21 Squirt Teams Announcement

Please note Squirt B American is currently growing.

VFC Bantam, 16, 18 Tryouts - 7/7/20

Please continue to get dressed/undressed outside/at home/etc. Some people have been bringing mats and lawn chairs to help. We are also adding mats along the sidewalk in front of the building, you just need a chair.

Please review this list to make sure you are ready and have everything in order. Your preparation will help us run things smoothly.

PAYMENTS
Please ensure that your deposit has been made online prior to tryouts so there is no issue you when you arrive. This MUST be completed prior to tryouts or your player will not be able to get on the ice. It is a requirement.

Please make sure you have signed up for tryouts also. You can do this or check this on your oakscenterice.com account under account history.

JERSEYS
Please send ONE parent in, wearing a mask (No players) to get your player jersey for tryouts. Please know what size they need when you come in - YXL is the smallest we have followed by AS (adult small). They MUST wear a jersey provided by us for all nights. They may NOT wear one they already have.
Jerseys will be available starting at 4:15pm. The colour of jersey you get means nothing. We just try for an equal number of each on the ice.

COVID SAFETY
We need to monitor our numbers in the rink, so there are NO PARENTS ALLOWED in the rink during evals.
While we know this is not ideal for you, it is what we need to do in order to keep control of what is happening in the rink. Please don't make us ask you to leave. It gets awkward...for all of us.

We want to have a successful season and we want to stay on the ice.
Send players in 10-15 minutes prior to start of evals.
Bring your own water bottle.

You do not need to check in each night - just the first night to get your jersey.

*Reminder that these are all tryouts and cuts will be made*

COVID-19 Update:

4/24/20

Hello Oaks Families,

We hope you are well. We are touching base to give you an idea of what is going on as we continue to be isolated from the rink.

We are currently waiting on the PA Governor to give us permission to open our business. There are rumors of "May 8th" but we don't really know what is allowed on that date. Once we know we are allowed to open, we will. We will be sure to post on every avenue we can.

We fully expect to host youth tryouts (Minutemen) and evaluations (VFC) as soon as we are allowed. Once the Governor gives the ok, we then need our hockey district to give us the ok, also. There are many meetings about this going on behind the scenes. This stems from USA Hockey and there are multiple States within one district. Our District is the AAHA (Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association).

We are hopeful to have some "skate time" before we host tryouts and evals but it may not be up to us, but rather the State and our hockey district.

Figure skating will resume as soon as allowed also. We are anxiously awaiting being allowed to get back on the ice!

There are many updates from the rink with regard to some changes we have made. Keep watching here for more to come!

In the meantime, stay active and stay safe.
