VFC 14AA Takes DVHL Championship

VFC U14AA went into the weekend with 6 straight wins to end the regular DVHL season 12-8-2. They haven’t had a DVHL loss since 12/13/2021. Now they have 8 straight wins with the 2 wins from the weekend.

Saturday’s game was against Team Philly (seed 2 vs 3)

• Team Philly opened with the first goal late in the 1st period
• 2nd period VFC tied it up, only to let up a goal about 30 seconds later.
• VFC tied it up again with 1:40 remaining in the 2nd period
• End of 2nd period was tied, score 2-2, shots 28-28
• The refs put away their whistles in the third and allowed the teams to duke it out for the win.
• VFC finally took the lead with 5:18 left in the 3rd. They held onto the lead fending off numerous defensive zone face-offs, and with Team Philly eventually pulling their goalie.
• Final stats 3 – 2, shots 38 – 41
